PLEASE READ IF YOU OWN A CAT THAT FREQUENTS OUTSIDE REGULARLY

The campaign by Municipality is moving ahead quickly, they are concentrating on Jumeirah at the moment and there are areas scattered with many traps. Please ensure that if your cat is an outdoor cat that he is wearing a municipality tag and collar, it is not enough for them to have clipped ears, look like domestic cats or be wearing a different form of ID.

ANY cat is at risk here, those that are chipped but not wearing collars will be taken and only kept for 3 days. If your cat should disappear from now on, please contact municipality immediately to see if they were trapping in your area and take a visit to their premises on Khawaneej Road.

Please inform anyone you know who has cats who go outside, this campaign has been seriously stepped up, the front page of 7 Days on Friday spoke of the wish to remove most of the street and stray cats from Dubai and it would appear that the wish is underway, we have had reports from various parts of the city to say that outdoor cats being fed by kind volunteers have suddenly disappeared.

If you feel strongly enough, please write to the media or to Dubai Muncipality.

For now Feline Friends Dubai has suspended Trap, Neuter, Release, there is no point us investing our time and precious funds in neutering a cat only to have it trapped and destroyed days later. We have raised our concerns many times, only time will now tell what will happen.

Please, please ensure your cats are safe and if you look after street cats your only option is to have them tagged and registered with municipality and ensure they wear collars from now on.
